Team Name: Oasis Team • Language Focus: Peninsular Arabic – (20 hours a week)
Journey to the region where Islam was founded nearly 1,400 years ago. This historic heritage blended with modern advancement makes for a rich cultural experience for any traveler. While the region has small pockets of believers, more laborers are desperately needed to share the Gospel.
The country that you will visit has over 4 million unreached people. While most of the residents are Arab, you’ll also meet Pakistani, Persian, and Bedouin peoples as you live and learn among the locals.
Learning Arabic in this region will set up a foundation for lifelong ministry in this Islamic stronghold.
Qualifications
- Born again believer for more than 2 years
- Active in a local church for more than 1 year
- Native English speaker
- Able to spend several hours a day sitting and listening
- Team player and encourager of teammates
- Able to endure stressful situations with grace
- Able to tolerate hot temperatures outdoors
What to Expect
- 100 hours of language tutoring
- Learning more than 1,000 spoken words
- Learning through listening and playing games
- Studying 4 hours every day, Sunday–Thursday
- Personal & team ministry while outside of class
- Weekend retreats on Fridays and Saturdays
